Says Irena: "For a few days I had been learning to speak to the children in Hebrew. But when I entered the classroom and they started singing Polish national anthem in Polish, I burst into tears. After long crying I spoke to them in Polish and Wanda translated into Hebrew." [Maria Pogonowska lives in Israel. She is more than 100 years old].
