What a powerful journey. The Life in a Jar cast helped present the Irena Sendler Award at the Palace of Foreign Ministry, in Warsaw, Poland last week. This honor goes to a teacher in the U.S. and Poland, who best represents Holocaust education in the spirit of Irena Sendler. The ceremony featured American recipient, Drew Beiter, and Polish recipient, Anna Kloza, plus the Polish semi-finalists. What powerful messages they shared. Also, several cabinet members attended, many dignitaries, and a reception was held afterwards at the home of the American Ambassador. Great changes are being brought about by those involved with Holocaust education in Poland.
